My name is Florian Marino. I am French and I am 18 years old. I began competing 6 years ago. I started my career by winning the Conti Cup during my first year racing, and as Runner-up in the French Open Juniors 50cc class the next year. I was noticed when I was 14 by winning the Junior Honda 125 CBR Cup (having missed the first two races waiting to be the required age!) I raced for two years in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, which takes place at several European MotoGP rounds. I was among 27 of the best young riders in the world selected to participate. We all used the same type of machine, a KTM RC125. I finished 10th my first year and 5th in 2009 with a victory during the last round in Brno.
In parallel to the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2009, I started racing 600 cc motorcycles, participating in the Pirelli 600 Junior Trophy as part of the French Superbike Championship. Due to conflicting dates with the Rookies Cup, I could not participate in all the races, and still succeeded in getting my first podiums and win in the 600 cc class. I finished an exciting season by winning the penultimate round of the European Superstock 600 Championship at Magny-Cours.
In 2010 I was the official rider for TEAM TEN KATE in the European Superstock 600 Championship. After being asked to continue with the Red Bull Rookies Cup for a 3rd season, I withdrew my participation to concentrate on 600 cc, as the bikes are too different from the 125’s.
For 2011 TEAM TEN KATE has renewed its confidence in me with participation in the World Supersport 600 Championship,
2012 : British Superbike for the Redmond Splitlath team with Aprilia 1000 RSV
